Anou Khanijou Appointed as First Female President of AISV



(Melbourne, 25 October 2024)—Anou Khanijou has been appointed President of the Australia India Society of Victoria (AISV). Anou is a distinguished director, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who has long advocated for the Australian Indian community. Her appointment marks a new chapter for AISV, as she brings extensive experience and a deep passion for fostering growth and inclusion within the community.


Victoria is home to one of the largest and fastest-growing Indian populations in Australia, and AISV plays a crucial role in supporting the community's cultural, social, and professional development. Khanijou’s leadership comes at a significant time as the organisation works to meet the evolving needs of Australian Indians whilst contributing to Victoria’s vibrant multicultural fabric.


As President, Khanijou will oversee strategic initiatives, partnerships, and programmes designed to empower Australian Indians, promote cultural respect, and strengthen ties between diverse communities. “I am honoured to take on this role,” she said. “My goal is to innovate, support our members, and create a platform where the voices and experiences of Australian Indians are heard and valued.”
